Playing contact sport? A custom-made mouthguard will protect your teeth from trauma much more effectively than shop-bought.

You can buy standard mouthguards from a sports shop but a custom-made mouthguard constructed by a dentist is far superior. The reasons for this are:

• More comfortable

• Most importantly - offer better protection. They can be made to protect not just the tooth above the gum, but also the root below the gum. They are therefore more likely to prevent a tooth from being displaced or even knocked out compared to a standard guard.
